Structual Report
We engage a structual engineer on all job sites before starting any work, the reasons are detailed below.
1. Structural Integrity Check
The report ensures that the existing roof frame, rafters, and tie-downs are strong enough to carry the new roofing material. This prevents sagging, uplift, or collapse in high wind or storm conditions—especially in Wheatbelt and Avon Valley’s cyclonic and high-wind zones.
2. NCC and AS Compliance
It confirms compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards such as AS 1684 (Timber Framing) and AS/NZS 1170 (Structural Actions). This certification is often required for council approval, insurance, or warranty validation.
3. Risk Mitigation
An engineer’s assessment identifies hidden structural weaknesses, termite damage, or undersized members that could fail under load. Addressing these issues before re-roofing reduces liability for both the homeowner and contractor.
4. Legal and Insurance Protection
If a structural issue arises later, a signed engineer’s report proves the roof was installed in accordance with professional engineering advice. This protects both the builder and the property owner under Australian law and insurance requirements.

Commencment of Works
Based on the structual engineers report a carpenter will be enaged at the same time we start our work to do any required works, such as replacement of battens or the addition of tie-downs. Any necessary repairs or upgrades are carried out to meet cyclonic N1 wind rating and Australian structural requirements. This step ensures your new roof is built on a sound, safe foundation.
